Our goal is to make your
shopping experience with us as convenient, easy, and enjoyable as possible,
even when it comes to returning a product you purchased from us.
This online store is owned
and operated by BuilderDepot, Inc.
Here is a summary of our
return policy (No returns are accepted on International orders):
1.
You may return an item
you purchased from us for any reason, no question asked, within 30 days from
the date it is shipped. Software, CDs and DVDs, custom and special order products, all electronics and electrical products,cannot be returned if the box or seal has been opened. Certain other
products may not be returnable so please read the product description for those
products before you purchase them.
2.
After 30 days, the
product is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Please contact the
manufacturer directly for help. The
manufacturer’s information is contained in the user manual and you can use the
Internet too, if needed.
3.
Please note that the
picture/image shown for an item may not be accurate. Use the part number,
bar code (UPC) or the description to make your decision. Manufacturers often make color or minor
design changes but continue to use the same part number.
4.
We normally do not
accept exchanges. You need to return an item and purchase a new one.
5.
If we make a mistake,
we will pay for shipping both ways and get the product back at no cost to you. Just ensure that the item is not opened or
used.
6.
If you decide to cancel
your order, please use our web site to request to cancel the order (emails and phone calls are not accepted to help us prevent errors). Please note that there is a 5% processing fee to cancel an order (this fee covers the credit card and bank fees we incured to take the order). If we do not receive your cancellation request before
the order has been processed, then your cancellation is now treated like a
regular return. Please note that our customer service staff members do not work
during holidays and weekends. Our
systems are designed to process your order fast, and in the case of canceling an
order this may work against your request to cancel an order.
7.
Returns incur the
following fees:
a.
If we made an error,
there are no fees, and you will be refunded in full
b.
If you cancelled the
order after it has been processed, we will need to collect a fee based on 5% of
the order’s total. Banks and credit card companies do not refund us the
fees taken when the order was placed.
c.
If you decide to return
an item at your discretion, we will need to collect a restocking fee (can be as
high as 30% depending on the product and the manufacturer policies). Please
note that shipping cost will be your responsibility. Shipping
charges are not refundable.
d.
We need to
inspect returned items and some require extensive testing before we can resell
them. Please be patient while we make
sure the product you returned is safe for other customers to use. Refunds are processed within 14 days as a result.
e.
You will not be
refunded if you return an order without authorization. Please use our web site to request a return authorization (emails and phone calls are not accepted). Returns without
authorization tend to get lost or cause us problems identifying them.
f. Please do not
return items to our headquarters address.
No products ship from our San
Diego offices, and they must be returned to the
warehouse that shipped them.
Returning a Product
Please go to our "Customer
Service" department online and request a Return Merchandise
Authorization number (RMA). When shipping the product back, please write the RMA
number in a couple of places on the outside of the box you are shipping back.
Return the product in its original packing and condition to the address we
provide to you. We strongly recommend that you insure the shipment for your own
protection as you are responsible for this shipment. We will credit your
account once we process the return (please allow 14 business days once we
received the returned item). Shipping and handling charges are not refundable
unless you received the wrong product. Taxes on the refunded amount are
refundable.
Returning a Product Under the Manufacturer’s Warranty
To benefit from the full
protection of the manufacturer's warranty, the product must be returned
directly to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's warranty information and phone
number is included with the product, or can be found on the Internet from the
manufacturer’s web site. You must contact the manufacturer directly.
Returning a Product
Damaged in Shipping
You are responsible to
inspect the package when it is delivered to you and refuse the shipment if it is
damaged and file a report with the driver about why you refused the shipment.
If the damage is minor you may decide to accept the shipment but you must file
your observations about the damage with the driver. If you accept the package but it is determined
that the item inside was damaged during shipping, please email our customer
service within 24-48 hours (customerservice@builderdepot.com).
Please do not call the freight company
who delivered your order. We are not
responsible for breakage, crushed, lost, or tampered cartons but will help you
by contacting the shipping company to file a claim.
If UPS was the freight
company, call 1-800-PICKUPS. If the freight company was FedEx, please call
1-800-GOFEDEX. These companies are reliable, responsible, and they have
customer friendly claims programs.
